SITUATIONAL AWARENESS


The Situational Awareness course covers the following:


- Understand the importance of Situational Awareness


- Preventative measures to help reduce becoming a  target


- Utilise the A C T model when risk assessing people and situations


- Identify what can cause aggression and how to recognise it


- Understand Fight / Flight / Freeze principles


- Explore a variety of communication models and de-escalation strategies


- Explain the ‘term’ reasonable force 


- Identify options when dealing with conflict

CONFLICT MANAGEMENT

This course is applicable to any staff that may face challenging behaviour as part of their role.


This course has been delivered to staff in roles such as:

THIS COURSE CAN BE DONE AS A STAND ALONE PACKAGE OR ADDED ONTO THE SITUATIONAL AWARENESS OR CONFLICT MANAGEMENT COURSES. 


The Breakaway & Disengagement course covers the following:


- Explain the term reasonable force and relevant legislation


- Examining body language and postures


- Describe the use of distance in a conflict situation


- Describe the fighting arc and different comfort zones


- Demonstrate a variety of breakaway and disengagement techniques
